- I am a fifteen year old (fourteen, feis age) Irish Dancer who loves to cook, eat, travel, explore, act, sing, and ofcourse, dance.
- What Irish things do I play, dance, say, sing or other:
- Well, first and foremost I'm an Irish Dancer. Second, I play the penny whistle.
- Music/Singing School/Group
- I often play with my dad who plays the fiddle and has an irish band.
- How many years have you been playing/singing?
- I've been playing the whistle for, hmmm... maybe five years.
- Favorite Music
- I LOVE the Beatles, but yes, obviously, I do quite enjoy irish music.
- Dancing Level
- Preliminary Championship
- How many years have you been Irish dancing?
- Six years taking irish dance lessons and performing, two years competing.
- Favourite Irish dance Show
- Er, actually, I havn't actually seen any. Well, that's not true, I fast forwarded through a LOTD video once (only watching the parts that looked interesting). I guess I'm just not that in to mixing ballet type movements (in the arms and upper body) with traditional Irish Dance. Oh well, maybe I'll get more into the shows as I... as I.. do something (get older? move up? become more "worldly"?).
- I love this about Irish Dancing:
- I love the challenge of learning something completely foriegn and then being able to grow and succeed with it.
- I love this about Irish Tradition:
- I love how wherever you go you can almost always find someone (somewhere) who knows what you're taking about when you say "I need new ghillies for the feis next weekend" and, "Oh yeah, that one slip jig was great for doing bicycles to".
