About me: I am a stay at home mom of 3 boys..aka the baboons...I have a crazy busy life taking kids from one school to the next, but I always find time in my day to dance.
I'm new to Irish dance, there are no schools in my area so I've been learning on my own for about 2 months now

What Irish things do I play, dance, say, sing or other:: DANCE BABY!!!!

Favorite Music: Pretty much anything with a good beat, though Janis Joplin is definitly in my top ten :)

Dancing School / Group: I just sent in for membership to the AAIDT....does that count?

How many years have you been Irish dancing?: Not nearly enough

Favourite Irish dance Show: I fell in love with Riverdance years ago, but Dancing on Dangerous ground is a good one

I love this about Irish Dancing:: The way it lifts me up and lets me forget everything when I'm feeling stressed.

Now I've done it! :(

I went to a wedding on Saturday, the bride was absolutely stunning...kinda made me wish for the whole white dress, throw the bouquet thing...then I came to my senses. lol Anyway...at the reception I got a little carried away. O.k, honestly I got alot carried away! Spent the whole night dancing and drinking with friends, only to wake up the next day not with a hang over but the most sore legs and feet I have ever had. Trying to dance with 3 baboons.....

Yes, baboons...aka Keegan, Conner, and Kalum. O.k so they are my kids not baboons but the line in thin :) My boys are aged 7, 5 and 3 and they make dancing on my own a trying process. More trying than it already is! When they aren't trying to run circles around me while I dance they are off getting onto trouble, and 3 boys can make alot of trouble in a very short period of time..believe me! it's too much to say I was a manager of a dance troupe - it was a local branch of ISTA school (now based only in Warsaw and Gdansk, but it is one of the biggest schools in Poland, and the first one I was in!). I actually did it because I wanted dance tuition so badly, and there happened to be a girl in the city who could be a dance teacher... only she didn't like doing the paperwork and marketing ;) so we started ISTA Poznan together. I loved our school, it's a pity that it was closed after 2 years, when I had a baby and was moving out of Poznan. but my "old" mates are still dancing in a group that they called Celtica... you can check it out at www.celtica.art.pl if you want :) I'm even on some of the older pictures [click 'galeria' and then 'wystepy'] :)
as to a dancing organization, I'm with An Coimisiun now, but I read about AAIDT and it seems very friendly, I'll be glad to hear more about it from you. virtual feis? how is it possible?? ;D
