I am so excited to be flying to Dublin, not just once, but twice to catch The High Kings on their Irish tour. Can't wait those guys are the best, simply fantastic! I have never heard harmonies like it! They are 'Kings' on the stage but just a bunch of down to earth guys when they come off it.
What Irish things do I play, dance, say, sing or other:
CD's and DVD's, anything else would be to the detriment of Irish music, trust me!!
Music/Singing Level
Rock bottom lol!!
How many years have you been playing/singing?
Any would be too many, although I was in a school choir many years ago.
Favorite Music
Darren Holden, The High Kings, James Fox, Joshua Jones, Billy Joel, Elvis Presley
Videos of Darren & The High Kings at The Olympia Theatre Dublin
If you're not seen Darren Holden sing The Leaving of Liverpool, or The High Kings singing Fields of Athenry, you need wait no longer. Apologies the picture isn't great, it was a still digital camera with the screen off, so point and hope without knowing what was actually in shot. All things considered, I got more than I hoped! If you have seen the show, then I don't doubt you you will still enjoy hearing those songs again.
Enjoy
Darren Sings The Leaving of Liverpool
The High Kings sing their harmonious version of Fields of Athenry, beautiful!
The High Kings took time out from their hectic US tour to return home to Ireland and perform on RTE's Up For The Match as part of the pre-match celebrations for the All Ireland football final.
On 28 March 2008, The High Kings performed The Holy Ground on RTE's The Late show to celebrate the release of their self titled CD and DVD in Ireland.
This is a copy of a blog I posted on my myspace page and Darren Holden's forum following my trip to Dublin back in November near the end of the High Kings Irish Tour
Well, I have been home just about 2 weeks, I thought with both shows now over I would be feeling a little down and flat after all the build up with no new dates on the horizon, but actually that couldn't be further from the truth. I came home feeling very proud, very excited, and very privileged to have been there, and that… Continue

Well, first I must apologise for taking so long doing this. It was a dream come true to be going to see both my favourite boys, James Fox and Darren in the space of 4 days, in fact make that all 5 of my special boys. But the downside was with trips to Wales and Ireland back to back there was so much to do when I got home in trying to catch up with all the reports and photos etc. Yeh, I know, tough j… Continue

Hi, Caz! Thanks for the friending. I am doing my computer work to the lovely music on your profile. Wow!
My current favorites are Celtic Thunder. If you haven't heard them yet, give them a try. Their concert is more like musical theater in spots, but well worth the time. I can't make the High Kings concert in my area, but I got CT tickets for my birthday. Yeah!
hey caz - thanks for posting those youtube videos. they're great.

To the contrary Caz... Brian may the most photogenic (at least a camera ham). He seems to be in a great and playful mood all the time, and I always appreciate a cooperative subject.
If you've frowned as long as I have, it's good for chuckles to see someone so light hearted.
There's also a cute photo (more seriouss...aloof), of Brian.
Thanks for the comment. Every day makes the trip to Dublin closer.
See Ya, Charlie
