An Com is trying to pass a new rule for 2009: 18+ must wear tights

How do you feel about this? I like the looks of tights, but I also like Poodle socks. I hardly ever actually wear tights with my solo dress unless it's for a very cold parade.

I'd hate to have tights on for an outdoor feis in the summer! It's not like you can just throw them on before the competition, tights take time to put on...Plus the heat would be unbearable.

Not every solo dress matches black tights.

Shoes fit differently with tights than with poodle socks.

This just seems like a silly idea.

Permalink Reply by Nicole on March 27, 2008 at 7:57am: That's really a stupid idea... Why not wear what everyone's comfortable with? I know some adults who never felt comfortable wearing poodle socks at a feis, so they were tights anyway - why make a rule of this? I really don't understand this...
As I don't compete it won't affect me, and as we're doing lots of shows I'm used to wearing tights (and was used to it before that from my 'ballet years' anyway) but still... I like my 'poodles' for training, esp in the summer...; ▶ Reply to This

I think tights can be ok sometimes, but wearing socks going so well with irish dancing and makes you see the feets looks better and socks are much more confortable !!

I also take issue with the age thing-it is now against the law-under ageism to discriminate on the grounds of age, and so far they have not provided a just explanation as to why the rule has been proposed.; ▶ Reply to This
