I'm sure it's not easy to move up as only the first or first two dancers will move up to the next level. You need a lot of patience... In Wassenaar there were certainly over 30(!) dancers in the beginners age group "Over 22".
My last feis was my second feis and I did really well (in my opinion). Placed in 4 dances. Even a 3rd place in the beg. set dance trophy! :)

Hi Sally,

I was at the same feis in Wassenaar. So we danced in the same group. My highest result was 5th place for the Light Jig.
I dance in Belgium but once a month we get dancing lessons by Catherine Redmond so that we can compete in feiseanna. I was the only one of my dance group so was rather nervous and didn't know anybody, except Catherine. The other dancers in my school don't like the competition but I hope I can convince them to join. Hope to see you on a next feis. You will be a familiar face that I know.

I don't know many of the other dancers. But I was there with some dancing friends from school, so it was okay.
I have just seen we are sharing the 7th place in the Slip Jig!

Oh, and congratulations for your great first feis results!

Hi Bert!
At my first feis in January 2005, I did three dances and I placed in two of them, 2nd and 5th. I started winning at my second feis. I'm now in intermediate/open so hang in there, it's possible to move up!

I was 13 at my first feis. I vaguely remember it. It was my (then) schools feis. I wore a skirt, blouse and a wig. I dance reel, light jig, and slip jig. I believe I received 2nd in Light jig, and 3rd in reels, and nothing in slip jig, if I remember correctly.

It's all a slight blur now,

God my first feis...long time ago but it was so awful...I got my own class dress and I had my wig and during waming up I lost my wig and I was so nervous and so I started crying and even on stage I was like snifing aroun yeah yeah lil Hannah at her first feis: crying...crying..crying haha
but I was placed in 3 dances ;)

I've done 2 feises, both in Wassenaar, in October and February... Also one of the over 22 beginners ;) The first feis I only won something in the 4-hand reel hahaha but we were the only group participating, some goes for the feis in February... But then I also got an 8th place for the light jig and 2x high recommended for both my beginners and primary reel. I am quite satisfied with these last results

on my first feis
i moved up to primary the second level at a feis in my reel because i got 3rd
in total i have done 9 feis moved up in 6 feis
in my second feis it was are class feis and you cant move up in those and i got first in my slip jig and ist in my 2 hand with rosie and 2nd in my light jig and 4 th in the rest including hard shoe and 4th in my championship
in my 3rd feis i moved up in my slipjig
and in feile costello i got 2nd in my hopjig
and have moved up in one more and other feis i just got 8th 7th 6th 5th 4th
from ellianne
in TOTAL I HAVE 4 trophys and i think 15 medals
from ellianne
