Is it traditional set dancing in teams?? i do that to! My team competes in All-Ireland fleadh next week!

I guess (and hope) those are not the so called 'traditional sets' amongst which are The St Patrick's Day, Blackbird etc., but those traditional folk dances, performed by sets of 8.

no they are not traditional sets among st patricks day + the blackbird i've never done any of those they are traditional sets of 8 such as the clare plain set cavan reel set + the cashel set the sets are called after counties in ireland

HiRoisin,Can I ask how much Ceili Dancing is embraced at the Fleadh and how much is done in general in your area.It would be good to see both practised and not one ousted by the other.Regards Anton

My name is grainne there's lots of setdancing done in my area i live in limerick there are celi's just 1 hour away from me i don't do irish dancing

Ceili dancing has only been danced at county and ulster fleadh this year for the first time in Derry
Im my area, i know my class does ceili and some others. A good chance to see ceili teams is scor!
Glen Maghera have a very good team both in scor na nog and senior scor!

Great to meet someone, who do sets, too. We learn and dance traditional setdancing in our school as well. So rare are they in the world irish dancing community, dunno why though.

Probably You mean Andrea Forstner from Erlangen? Her Homepage: www.setdancing.net
I lived five years in Erlangen and danced with her and several others. There are many setdancers there.
