Dresses - Panels? Wrap? Tutu? What are the advantages/disadvantages?

Hey girls and guys,
I am thinking of getting me a custom made solo dress and I've fallen in love with a dress by Elevation Design (could as well buy a new car :-S). It's a 1 piece costume with a pointed waist, a soft wave skirt which is completely soft with a tull Tu-tu underneath to give support.
Does anyone have experience with a "tutu-dress"? Could this in any way be a disadvantage at a competition?
And what do you think about the other dress styles on the market?

I think they must be great to dance in, as there's no panels to prevent you from doing high cuts hehe :P And they must be very light. I'm definitely wanting to have a tutu dress !!; ▶ Reply to This

I can not do cuts very properly, I feel like I can't "fly" as much as I could without my dress (haha, that's a good excuse for the judges :P)... BUT the good point is that the panels are so huge that they hide my arms, and the judges just can't see they that they are flying all over the place !! Hehe.; ▶ Reply to This

Elevation do really hit it off there; I think they make great dresses also and especially for adult dancers.; ▶ Reply to This

I used to wear a centre wrap dress. Not really comfortable....when I did my jumps and blablabla. So...I decided to make some alterations. My dress is now shorter with a tutu. How great it is!
I tried it last week. Can do my cuts and my jumps properly!
I recommend you the tutu dress!
btw, this one ( on the pix attached) is simply gorgeous!!

first, congrats to your placing in Munich and - your dress was really nice. Are you looking for a different one or is it already a new one (looked very stylish and good on you).
I`m hoping to get my Solodress done till Euro Feis latest (dress was promised some thousand years ago, but we never started with it beside some drawings).

Yes the dress I wore in Munich is indeed my new dress! I picked it up in June and I am absolutely glad with it, the dressmaker did an amazing job!
