i have learned only a little little bit, but hope to learn more :) my sister, and dad took a few Irish- gealic classes, and she will also be taking Scottish-gealic when she studies abroad in Scotland. My family is both iris, and sottish and she decided to got to Scotland because it was easier to get to other places, but she was hoping to go to Ireland, That way ill go with her wheb she goes to Ireland :)

Are there any software packages that teach Irish? I checked Rosetta Stone and they don't. Without hearing it aloud, phrasebooks do me no good at all.

I wanted to learn Irish Gaelic for some time now, but I never had time to do it. I'm still at the pronunciation chapter.
I don't have a special learner's package, but I listen to a lot of music sung in Gaelic, to understand how it sounds. Listening to music in the specific language is a great learning technique.
Anyway, here's an online English - Gaelic dictionary, if it helps: http://www.englishirishdictionary.com/dictionary

Ádh mór ort!

Where are you located? I know a guy that comes Irish dancing each week who knows Irish. Of course we go to a place located in Berkeley, California USA.
