Dublin Mountains Trail Now Partly Accessible
The first section of a walking trail across the Dublin mountains was opened recently to the public. Though the entire route has not been fully developed, the section linking Tibradden, Kilmashogue and Cruagh can now be accessed by hikers. Got A Weird Tree Story?
The Tree Council of Ireland is looking for stories and photographs of unique and unusual trees throughout the island. The council is trying to preserve Ireland's historic trees and requires the public's help to do this. "We want to hear about giant, important, sacred, historical, bizarre-looking or ancient trees, and [general] trees with a story," said the vice-president of the Tree Council of Ireland, Eanna Ni Lamha. And if your story really has the stuff of legends, it will be included in a picture book which will be published by the Tree Council later this year.

The Irish Love Their Newspapers
Sales of newspapers are declining all over the world with papers consequently closing but not in Ireland. Collecting the morning papers is still a ritual for many and spending a lazy Sunday reading the papers is still very much a part of Irish life.
