DeNogla Feis

The DeNogla feis was this Saturday in Kenilworth, NJ. I danced in the last group of the day, Prelims 18+. I am so lucky I get to dance with such a nice bunch of people. Everyone is so nice and we all say good luck to each other when we leave the stage. That being said, I didn't dance my best. I totally died at the end of my hornpipe! I was getting close to the end of my half step and my legs felt like lead so they kind of got all caught up under me. It didn't help that the stage was this really weird material that was almost sticky. But I can't totally blame the stage :) Reel went well although I didn't do my turns as well as I do in practice due to fatigue and the sticky floor. Overall it was a fun day and well run feis!

I always try to keep in mind that when we're dancing and feel like the floor is keeping us from doing our best, that it's not only us, it's everyone who is being hindered by it. Unless of course you are Super Dancer the Almighty who can Dance on Any Floor to Any Beat! :D

Spins always get me and are probably the weakest trick in my Reel. But I agree with Christina it is very hard to dance while having to worry with school. But heaing that you are a medical student especially I give you props. Keep up the good work... You'll get'em next time!

Comment by Christina on March 24, 2009 at 2:03pm: Us prelim 18+ dancers are almost always last of the day. I can completely relate with the stamina issues, that is by far my weakest point in my dancing. I wish we could dance just one step! =D

I haven't feised since September, and probably wont until June or so. I'm kind of waiting until I'm happy with my steps. School basically sucks my energy and makes practice very minimal. I give you credit for competing while being a medical student!
