I have been dancing since I was 3 1/2 yrs old with the Peter Smith School and enjoy teaching today with other former students. When I was competing, I had…

I went to a wedding on Saturday, the bride was absolutely stunning...kinda made me wish for the whole white dress, throw the bouquet thing...then I came to my senses. lol Anyway...at the reception I got a little carried away. O.k, honestly I got alot carried away! Spent the whole night dancing and drinking with friends, only to wake up the next day not with a hang over but the most sore legs and feet I have ever had.

Hey guys,
yesterday was, as all of u probably know, Salzburg-Feis. It was so gr8 2 c u all again and to get to know new friends. Because I twisted while I was practising I got a torn ligament and couldn´t participate. I really felt sad because I looked so much forward to the Feis and I practised so much for it. But that´s life, u can´t change it....so I had no choice...I had to watch, which was btw not as funny as competing but it was okay. For the first time I wasn´t stressed and nervous and I…

Flatley's step dancers descend on downtown.

Once a year, Michael Flatley's “Lord of The Dance” comes to Jones Hall to entertain the throng of Flatley faithful that have grown to love his flashy style, machismo presence, and Hollywood flare. Although retired from the show as its principle dancer, Flatley remains at the helm, behind the scenes of his multi million dollar dance sensation.
In traditional “good versus…

I have been taking private lessons on top of the many hours a week I already dance to try to improve my trebbels, and various other hard shoe techniques. I got to the studio right at 4:30pm on a Sunday when the lesson was scheduled and no one was there! The door was locked, there was no one around. This pissed me off a tad because I had come home from visiting friends out of town early in order to make it to dance. I also had someone else call me to make plans for that time but I turned them dow…

When they aren't trying to run circles around me while I dance they are off getting onto trouble, and 3 boys can make alot of trouble in a very short period of time..believe me!

Hi Everybody!!! Thanks for your welcome greetings..
Mi Name is Lisandro and I'm an Irish Dancer from La Plata, which is the Capital City of the Province of Buenos Aires.
As many young people here in Argentina, I've first heard about Irish Dances because of Lord of the Dance. In my english school some teachers organized a ' Lord of the Dance Festival' and I (who was 11 years old) played the part of Michael Flatley. hahaha. Thank's God that there is no tape of that festival. After that I wanted t…

I just wanted to write a comment (and try out this journal as well). I just wanted to say that my first impression of this site is that everyone is very nice and welcoming. I am also happy to find a large diversity in the age ranges of the people on the site. I am extatic to find Irish Dancers in my age group (20's) as well, as where I am from, there aren't very many 20 somethings who still take or compete in Irish dance. I have been a dancer for many years in other disciplines but I very recent…

As of the beggining of March, I no longer take dance lessons, and there really isn't much I can do about practicing what I already know. I miss dance so much already!! *crycry! I didn't get to say goodbye to a lot of my friends, either, becaus they were all gone my last dance class. I can't believe how much I took dancing for granted. This is probably one of the hardest things I have ever had to do.

Well I was checking out EBay the other day as usual, and low and behold who should I see but my Irish dance teacher in her beautiful Irish Dance Solo Dress "Siopa Rinca Teo".
