Vienna Feis was great, it`s a pity you couldn`t attend it!!! I still can`t believe my results! I was first in the primary traditional set dance (I soooooo happy) and, wait for it, second in intermediate reel and heavy jig :o) That`s unbelievable... It is really much much more I had expected.
And what about you? Have you found a new school yet??? Or still searching???
Bye
Nika
First thing, due to many problems they were having WIDA had to change the venue last minute, which lots of people were not happy about. the venue was a bit on the small side, but it was really nice and we all fitted in there. there were actually quite a few people there this year, we had schools from all over england, scotlant, northern ireland, ireland, germany and russia were all there. it was nice to see all the girls again and we had a bit of a chat before we had to dance lol.
it wasn't a very successful day for the dancers from my school, one girl didnt get any placements and the others only got a few, having said that there were two sisters that were there who placed 2nd and 3rd in their premierships.
I ended up dancing at the opens, despite everyones advice lol, i placed joint 7th in the reel, i didn't do the treble jig, i didn't place in hornpipe (but they only called up to 3rd place), i came 2nd in the set dance which i was pleased about.
When it came to the championship, i was really nervous because i havmt damced im ages and i had only been off crutches for exactly a week lol. i wasn't sure if my ankle could cope with it so i decided to take it dance at a time and if i needed to drop out then i would. so i did the reel obviously for the first round, it went well but i nearly fell in the lead round, but i managed to do all 3 steps and it only felt like i had done 2 steps so stamina is getting better.
it was treble jig for the second round, i was dreading this one most, but it seemed to go ok, could have been better, but i finished it so thats the main thing lol.
and then i danced my new set that i have never done before for the final round. i wa also really nervous about this, but everyone said i did it amazingly and i felt i had done that one better than all of my other dances.
when it came to results time i was a bit nervous cos i was kinda expecting not to place for anything so the solo placements were still a surprise. and then they called th championships, i was getting more and more shocked as in my age group they were calling numbers for the lower placements and the still hadn't got to mine yet.
i ended up coming 3RD in the championship, i was sooooo happy with it i go a trophy and a sash, and its better than i did lst year and i had a good foot then. lol
anyway i best be getting off
i'll speak to ya soon
