About me: If there is a Singing Detective, I'm the Dancing Sailor ... I love the sea and Scottish/Irish dancing is a passion ...

What Irish things do I play, dance, say, sing or other:: Since I like tall-ships so much, I guess I consider the Hornpipe my favourite dance ... both in Highland Dancing and Irish Dancing.
Not that I'm that good ... but I can't sit still and so I'm always tippy-tappying. So Irish Dancing is my thing, yep.
And with my feet tapping the floor, my hands feel the urge to whack a goat-skin :-) So I learn how to play a bodhrán, too.

How many years have you been playing/singing?: I took to Highland Dancing in the 90's; passed for my Associate and Members.

Favorite Music: All styles, really... as long as it's still recognisable as music.

I love this about Irish Dancing:: The variety of steps you can do! To be able to FLY across the stage!

ps: we hebben een leuke en een echt moeilijke treble reel stap geleerd. De moeilijke is ok wel leuk maar ist vol kliks die niet zo eenvoudig zijn.

As you may have noticed I wasn´t there. I´m quite busy here at uni in cold, but very sunny Scotland. The uni offers a great Irish Dance course. Unfortunately only once a week. I´m also a member of the celtic society here, who teach Scotish Ceilidh dancing. It´s a lot of fun, but I´m somehow not able to bend my knees ;) Too Irish :)

Id love to come, but still my dance group isnt dancing under any TCRG, so we cannot compete at any feis :o( I am afraid it will take a some time. We are waiting for our friend who is going to pass a TCRG exams next year, that is why we are not under any other TCRG :o)

I believe you will do a great job in Oireachtas, crossed fingers!!!! Tell me then the results, please :o)
