Profile Information

I am a ...
Dancer, Fan
About me
I live in Hungary, where I study English and Russian at college.
I like to read (mainly American literature), listen to rock and metal music, study languages, sit in silence at dusk and be happy! :)

My fav quotes:
"A true friend stabs you in the front."
"There is no sin except stupidity."
"Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a mask, and he will tell you the truth." //all from Oscar Wilde//
What Irish things do I play, dance, say, sing or other:
I dance Irish step but only as a hobby but i absolutely LOVE it and couldn't live without it.
Favorite Music
Rock & Metal (Marilyn Manson, Nightwish, The Birthday Massacre, Apocalyptica, Metallica, Guns N' Roses, Lacuna Coil, ...)

Irish (well, I have only selections so I don't really know singers, but I really like Maire Brennan, Enya, Loreena McKennit, oh and Ann' Sannat<- they're great; and Édain, Gallowglass - they are Hungarian bands playing irish music)
Dancing School / Group
Blackbird Irish Dance School
Dancing Level
around intermediate (if there is a kind of term)
How many years have you been Irish dancing?
1-1,5
Favourite Irish Dance Show
Feet of Flames, Világfa (www.irishfeet.hu/vilagfa)
I love this about Irish Dancing:
That you don't necessarily need a partner, and while everything is so controlled the dance itself is wonderful and dignified.
I love this about Irish Tradition:
That it always reminds me of an imaginary Ireland - something green and foggy but magical at the same time.

Yeah, we have to take a lot of general education courses. I guess they don't want us forget out our basics, but I think it's more for those who come here undcided. Most of those classes are only just for one semester, so it's not too bad. I think I'd rather like to only study my major and not have to deal with everything else. It is a waste of time I could be spending taking more music classes!

My semester is done May 5, and then I have my finals.
Music education is just that, that I want to teach music to younger kids in schools. I mainly want to be a choir director at a secondary level of education, which is where the vocal part comes in.
Class-wise, I take music theory, music history, art of teaching music, sightsinging and ear training, I have voice lessons, and I also have to learn some of the instruments (piano, guitar, violin/viola/cello/bass, and one band instrument). I also have to take general classes such as english, math, history, and science. Really, my list of classes to tak just goes in forever, and I could list them all day but I don't want to bore you. :]
Ask all the questions you want, I'll do my best to answer them.

Hi !

Everyone can go to a feis, as soon as they feel confident enough, prepared enough...
I started "feisin'" this November, I was dancing for 1.5 year, and I danced in beginners and primary.
Buuuut, I know some girls who have been dancing for only 4 months and went to a feis !
You can go whenever you want :) it is reaaaally funny there, you always meet lots of nice people. I really love going to feiseanna !
Is your teacher a TCRG ? ( = An Comisiun diploma which allows your teacher to bring his/her dancers to competitions)
