  1. The commentator, Dominic Graham, admits that Festival dance is Protestant. He criticizes Irish Dance, for being too flashy and ornate and praises Festival dancing for having a more humble appearance and style; very true to the Protestant ideal and a bit of a swipe at Catholics. The irony of all of this is that Irish Dance was born out of the oppression of the Catholic faith.
