Yes, TG4‘s An Jig Gig is back for its new season! (TG4 is the Irish language network in Ireland.) In case you’re not familiar with the reality series, the show searches for Ireland’s best Irish dancing act and is judged by Breandán de Gallaí (former lead in Riverdance), Dearbhla Lennon (former lead in Riverdance and LOTD) and Labhrás Sonai Choilm Learraí (champion sean-nós dancer). The great thing about the show is that all the acts are different – solo dancers, troupes, dancers of different styles, dancers from a variety of organizations, and dancers of all ages – which makes for a lot of fun.
Check out the acts from week one below and let us know what you think. (You can also watch the episode in its entirety here.) Don’t worry, there are English subtitles if you need them but, let’s be honest, you’ll probably only be paying attention to the dancing. Enjoy!
